Longines 7.65 Auto Pistol

[?]Can any one tell me what year production is for this Longines 7.65 Automatic Pistol? The serial number is: 87457. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  The only way to date it is if it was a later production model. After the requirement that the guns be proofed, dating from the mid to late 20's, one of the proof marks was a coded date.

  Thanks for the quick reply. On the left, rear of the slide, there is a shield with a crown on top and an "X" in the shield, a raring male lion with the letters "P.V." between the shield and lion. Let me know if that helps.

  It has to date to the mid 20's. The Spanish started with the proof code "A" in 1927, "B" in 1928, etc. Without a letter code but with the proof marks you noted, it would date to the mid 20's, IMHO.
