264 Herters cases
So I sat down to resize some 264s I bought at gun show. Mixed of course. Came across a Herters case-and there are others in the lot--the decapping pin stuck in the case. Well I got it out without bending it and the flash hole is smaller than all the other brands. Win Rem etc. It is visably smaller on this one. Maybe size for small primer?????? I tried 2 others and they worked fine. Question is is this a fluke or will there be more of them and has any one else run across this. Poor quality workmanship????????? Any body else had this with Herters brass??????? Tanx

Most likely foreign made brass. Had the same problem awhile back, think the brass was either Czech or Yugoslav. Not worth the aggravation, just toss them if you don't have a lot of them. 0 -
I had some 44 mag Herter's and they were very tight in the shell holder, was glad when they split at the neck. All my brass is flash hole uniformed/deburred with a Lyman hand tool. 0 -

It's hard to say what the cause is or was but the smaller holes exist so simply drill or ream them to the proper size for use. Most of the reloading websites feature both tools for accomplishing this task. If the number is too low to justify the tools, recycle the brass.
I have some Herter's brass in the original boxes which are labeled 'Made in Finland' and 'Made in Sweden'.
