savage model 893 :?

i have a model 99 .300 savage that says model 893 on it.. looks exactlty like a model 99 ..any help would be appreciated not for sale.. handed down from grandpa and dad ..taketown model

  if it's a takedown probably a 1893. Look close for the 1. Probably worn off.

  i guess what i was asking is what is the difference between a 893 and a 99.. i see no difference

  and yes i looked closely... can't see the 1..rifle is pure blue..and in mint condition.
