Holographic sights

I'm currently trying to decide on 3 different Holographic sights,all are comparable in price and would like some feedback if any of you have had experience with them.1st GSG 5 Holographic,2nd 552 Holo by Barlow in USA,3rd Holo by Omega Tactical made in USA. I don't know where the GSG 5 is made.All things being equal I will buy USA first.Any first hand knowledge? thanks

  I am looking for a holographic sight in the $150-$250 range. Uses would be on a ruger .44 mag carbine, and .308 winchester model 88. Normal shooting range would not exceed 100 yards. I would appreciate recommendations that fit this criteria.

  I think GSG is a german firm but sights could be made for them anywhere.

  Look at the Vortex Sparc
  Not a holo though.

  So far as I know the only true holographic sights on the market are the Eotechs and the Bushnell Holographics (which are supposedly made in the same plant as the Eotechs).
  
  Everything else is a simple reflex sight that is (mis)labelled as "holographic".
  
  What's the difference?
  
  A true holographic sight has its reticle projected via hologram. A hologram is created by a physical engraving containing all information for all parts of the image in all parts. The upshot of this is that if PART of the reticle is blocked (say by dirt or snow), the holographic machinery recreates the rest of the reticle image anyway. This sort of thing can be helpful if doing critical shooting in harsh environments (eg actual combat). You do pay for it, though; actually holographic sights start at around $400 or so.
  
  552 Holo is a COSMETIC clone of the Eotech, but is a low end (ie TOY) non-holographic red-dot sight best used on airsofts or paintball guns. I wouldn't put one on an actual firearm (ie period).
  
  GSG "holo" is just a low-end red-dot reflex sight. Its probably fine for a .22 or plinker, but again, I wouldn't put one on gun I was trusting my life or an expensive hunt to. Ditto for the Omega tactical.
  
  If you just want a red-dot sight, there are many good models out there. The Vortex one already mentioned is a tube-type design. Burris fast-fire is a good reflex (ie open) style model for under $200. There are others.
