Anybody shoot a Sharps
Got a Sharps 45-70 from a friend who bought it at a local show.
I'm trying to figure out who the mfgr is, as the only thing I can find on it is the serial number on the tang and HARTFORD 1874 SHARPS RIFLE on the top of the barrel. It also has what appear to be proof marks on the bottom of the receiver. One is BN, one is PSF, and I can't tell what the other two are. I assume it's an import, but I'd like to know who by.
Any ideas out there?
