I have one my Dad bought new. It's been used a lot but still makes an excellent rabbit gun. I've never used heavy/magnum loads in it due to it's age and wear but I suppose a few wouldn't harm it. Dad "suggested" that I shouldn't use slugs in it but I never saw a need for that anyway.
Remington used the same pattern on the 17(20 gauge) and 10(I think)in 12 gauge that was later made famous by the Ithaca Model 37.
Just remember the action must be closed to load shells into the magazine and loading directly into the chamber is tricky.

    It's a John M. Browning design.

But the Model 10 (and the slightly modified Model 29) was a John Pederson design. The only thing they had in common was bottom ejection.
