Colt AR-15 Lower

I have an AR-15 that I bought new in 1992 from a local gun shop. They did not have any complete Colt Match HBAR's so they put this one together for me. The upper and barrel are all Colt HBAR. The lower is EA. Co. KR. SPR. LA. Mod J-15.

I want to replace the lower with a Colt lower. Will any year Colt lower work? Would it be advantageous to try to find a pre-ban Colt lower?

  Is the upper a large or small hinge pin model [?]
  You will need the same size pin Colt lower or get a adapter pin.
  Another brand lower will be a small pin.
