Long Rifle Recognition
Hey guys. I sure could use some help figuring out what this is? No clue. Also, is the hump a the bottom of the grip original or was it replaced? I mean...it obviously is a different piece of wood but I didn't know if this came that way. Also...the ornate pieces on inlay wood...is that original or did someone do that?

It appears to be a heavily sporterized Swiss Model 1889/96 service rifle. Around 127,000 were produced, all of them at Eidgenoessische Waffenfabrik, Bern. Your rifle looks to date from around 1904. 0
