winchester 1400 problem

I have a this gun I am putting back together for a boy whose father died of cancer. It was his first gun. The stock was broke in 3 pieces and I fixed that. mind blowing to say the least. Trouble is now the carrier release and mag throat. I got the 1 piece throat and had to buy a receiver for 70.00 to get the carrier release button. He won't stand for switched receivers. The gun I am working on has no slot in the bottom of receiver to accept carrier latch release button, pre 400,000. Will this gun even accept it if I get it off the other receiver I just bought? Never taken one off before so if it will can someone tell me how to get it off? I can't tell if it is part off the throat of the new receiver or not. I know it is a pin, spring and button. also was there ever a 1400 made without a carrier release button?   I can offer no assistance in the mechanics of the shotgun, but I applaud your undertaking this project for the youngster and I hope you get it back together and running for him!

  The feed throat has to be pressed in. If you want send it to me and I will do it for free for you. Just pay the postage.

  Thanks for the kind words and generosity! I really appreciate it. isn't it funny that I have fixed a many a gun but when it came to this I got stumped.I think I can put the feed throat in and assembling the gun is no problem but what really surprises me is on shotgun world and other big sites no one will even answer the question of" does this gun need a bolt release or not"? In fact, they do not even acknowledge the fact I even asked it. So sad, in a time when it ought to be neighbor helping neighbor it seems like.... well you know what I mean. Everybodys hurtin and helping a young man out ain't taking a dollar from anyone else's pocket. If that is not the problem then it must be the "haha you idiot" situation. Well i am going to bed. I got 3 guns to get out in the am and I will tackle this thing over the weekend and if I don't get it, I will take you up on your offer and pay you besides. I want this under his arm Christmas morning or over the mantle
