Looking to buy a pair of Bushnell Elite Binoculars 8X42 or 10x42
How do the compare to Leupold Gold Ring, Zeiss Conquest?
Have Bushnell Elite 4200 scopes and prefer them to my Leupold scopes.

Well, what are you going to do with them? If you are going to use them in the wee hours of the morning, and dusk hours in the evening, then go with the 8x42. If you are not, then go with the 10x42.
Untill you start getting into the Meopta, and up class, the Leupold Golden Ring, Bushnell's top end Elite's, Burris, and Nikon's are all about the same. The Meopta, Vortex Razor HD's, Leica, Zeiss(VICTORY, not conquest), and Swarovski EL's are beginning, and end of great binoculars, in that order. Everything else will cause eye strain if used for long periods of time.

Zeiss is the best, Leupold a not too close second, and Bushnell a very distant third. Put the side by side in low light conditions and you will see the difference. 0 -
Bad time to ask me about Bushnell. Returned a pair under warranty when the barrels developed a misalignment. Never dropped, never to subject to water or high humidity, etc. etc. Could pass for new to all outward appearances.
"Not covered under warranty due to abuse."
I'm waiting for an explanation of how they came to that conclusion.
No answer yet, and they still have my glass.

Customer service at Bushnell is zero. Sent them a pair of binoculars six weeks ago & three phone calls later they still can't tell me if they are fixing them or not. They did try to sell me a new pair though. 0 -
You only have to look at the country of manufacture to figure out if you are getting a quality product or not. The German optics like Zeiss and Leica are the top of the food chain and are made in Europe. The next best would be any made in Japan, which are few and far between. May be Nikon still makes their top line binoculars in Japan, but much of its cheaper ones are made in China.

bushnell are over rated , my op. Go for something in your budget. I tried some bsa 8x40 recently, amaising clarity & qualty for the dosh. If you wanna do it right try swaroski. [;)] 0 -
You simply will not find a bino under $500 that is not made in China. 0
