    olrebel37,

    1) The short recoil design of the Browning Auto-5, is not like the inertia or gas systems of the Benelli's, or other shotguns. With the 3 1/2 inch, it would beat itself to death, and rather quickly at that. Chambering that gun in 3 1/2", would be almost like chambering a Ruger 10-22 in 300 Win. Mag. It would be nice, but it is not ever going to happen.

The tooling they have would have to be changed to make reciever's of that length, and the other parts to go along with it, to produce a gun that is bound to fail.

    2) Since these are mostly hunting guns, they use the stronger choke tube system, that is designed around the newer tungsten based loads.

I just watched the Teaser video of the new "A -5". Its not going to be an A-5, but an A5, and will not be using the John Browning designed recoil operation system. Looks like they figured out that people still love the Browning design and are going to profit from the look of the ol Humpback. The only thing that I could see similar to the original is the Humpback, everything else is something else. Not sure if I like it or not, but thats the way it is.
