94 barrel bands
Are the forearm barrel bands on carbines the same size on the flatbands as they are on early 1960 models?

I am not sure. The Flat-band Carbines used the long forend stocks whereas the 1960s Carbines used the short forend stocks, and as a result, there might be a diffference in the bands used for each type.0 -

Stuff happens, and that just goes to show that we all still have something to learn now and again[8D].
For the record, and for what it is worth, I do not make a habit out of swapping gun parts around to see what will and will not work/fit on old Winchesters. I do not own any Model 94 Carbines, therefore I can not answer the question through trial & error[:I].0 -

Mark.. After reading Bert's comment on long forearms/flat bands, I checked mine since I have both.. The long forearm 94 has the same common round band as the short forearms .. Bert, I take it you meant flat bands are ONLY found on long forearms, but not all long forearms have them.. My 94's are original, un-touched..
And Bert.. If you're a little strapped, I could send ya an extra 94 or two- You can square-up with me when you get it together.. I mean really, a Winchester guy without a 94 ?.. Some might call you a poser [:0]0 -

I did not say that I did not own any Model 1894s... just that I do not own any "Carbines". All of my Model 1894s are Sporting Rifles ot Take Down Sporting Rifles. I definitely do not need you to send me any of your Carbines[}:)] What I do want you to do, is send me the serial numbers on all of your pre-64 Carbines so that I can add them to my research survey[^]
Yes, all "Flat-band" Model 94 Carbines have the long-wood forend stock, as they were manufactured in the years 1946 - 1948. The short-wood forend stocks were first used in late 1950.0
