Have you checked the capacity yet?
May be a 20 shot converted to 10 shot that was pined to conform to the 1994 10 shot capacity ban.

That is one of the first Mini mags. If my feeble brain is right, they only hold 18rds.

EDIT, gooferboy isn't right about this mag [B)]
My early Mini GB has the same one still wrapped in plastic- in the factory box [^]

I have a couple of those. I'll have to go load them up and see.

I think it's a phoney. IIRC all real ruger mags have the Ruger phoenix/eagle on the bottom, some new ones might have Ruger as they got away from Sturm Ruger but I doubt it

As I said, IIRC, but my 180 series does not have a mag like that and again IIRC my dad bought it NIB.

But I guess there is evidence that it's real Ruger

It's a real Ruger mag, the early Ruger factory 20 round mags were made by cutting down a 30 rounder and using a spring pin base plate.

They were discontinued after Ruger got tooling made to make 20 round mags from scratch.

I had two of them at one time. Story i was told was that they were the first magazines made for the Mini 14. They had come with a 180 series Mini that was purchased by an officer in 76. He sold the gun to someone else, but i got the mags.
