Springfield Model 1911 (continued)

Re my previous thread http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=542822 that I inadvertently mislabeled as a Colt 1911, I found a recently sold Springfield 1911 that has the same type of frame and slide stampings as Locust Fork's:

..and Kasey's Springfield has the classic 'Springfield hammer spur'. Make note of hers, and then look at Colt M1911's of the same period.

Only thing that gives me pause...the stampings surely don't look like they were roll-stamped. But I don't know the Springfield procedure vis-a-vis marking of firearms.

I just took a good look at Spider's example. The stampings look to be the same as Kasey's example. Go figger....

There is no plot and no question. It is reblued or restored however you want to call it. Wrong blue, wrong polish under the blue lots of marks and small dents under the blue prove it. Nice looking gun overall and someone will purchase it for a good high price. But it is not original.

The magazine is not original finish either, it was "restored" by someone who did not know what he was doing.
