1886?Swiss rifle who knows details and value
I had a guy offer this question to me but any info I got was vague. About all I know about it is it is swiss, caliber unknown, bore is good and his father bought it at an auction. He wants to sell it on GB but has no info and I don't either.
He did not leave me with the rifle but I took the best pics I could and passed on what he told me. Not much to go on I know
Thank you!!!!!!!

Thanks for THAT wealth of info!!! What's a good starting price for the bucket of bolts, sorry but when you pretty much have to convert the gun cause there is no factory ammo, you got a lot of cash tied up in it. Whew!!!
Thanks very much and I appreciate it

It appears to be a Model 1869/71 Swiss Vetterli, chambered for their .41 rimfire cartridge. Over and above the lack of .41 rimfire ammo on the market, it's in terrible condition because of the pitting and misuse. Difficult to sell other then for parts or as a wallhanger/conversation piece. 0
