Identify this Garand ? Part
I got this in a lot of gun parts I bought. This came with a tag reading: M 1 Garand. I have studied the schematic and can't identify this. Is it a Garand part? What is it? It measures 1 3/8" long and 5/16" wide. The end with the projection is almost 1/2" wide. Any info will be appreciated.

I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a part for the M1 Rifle. I will also say that it does not look like any ordnance tool that I have ever seen for the M1, but tools are a specialized area and not one that I am interested in. 0 -
My War Dept base shop manual shows a number of tools specifically designed for the M1 rifle, but nothing that looks like that.

Are you sure that says Garand? 0 -
mcasco I am not positive about it being Garand but a tag on an operating rod was very similar. I thought this looked like a shell stop for some shotgun! 0 -
Hey, swapper..'ya still with us? The part is for a M1919 Machinegun cover extraction spring. Best, Joe

Thanks Joe! I knew someone could do it. I will do a little looking and list this on the auctions! Gunswapper.0
