Scope problems

Mounted a one piece Leupold base on a Browning. Using a Redfield scope I cannot adjust the scope enough to align with the bore picture. I have run out of adjustment/

Is it the scope, base, mounting holes or me?

  I just installed a scope on a mauser rifle and am having problems.
  I am using a lazer bore scope and when I try to line up the dot on
  the crosshairs I cannot get the the veriacle line over far enough
  to line up and the screw is all the way. Is my scope messed up????
  or am I using the bore sighter wrong?

  Hmm,,,take the scope off again and make sure the base bottom rings are square with the front and back. Put upper caps on and x-tighten the screws about 1/2 turn at a time and see what happens.

  My one piece Leo on my Carl Gustaf has two screws on the back for windage adjustment. I centered the scope adj then used the mount adj to aleign the bore to scope. A friend of mine tried to mount his own scope 3 times, he really torked the rings too hard and the scope was bound up and wouldn't adj properly.

  Windage or elevation? If windage, use the lateral base screws. If elevation, shims unter the appropriate base will probably be required.

  If you have the base that has the two adjustment screws in the back, that will fix a windage problem if they are adjusted correctly, most of the time. You need to be careful adjusting those, as to not ruin or stress the scope. If it is not a windage problem, then you will have to use shims.
  
  Did you happen to turn the front ring in, using the scope? If you did, just toss the scope now and save yourself some time, and anquish.
