Remington Rolling Block
I have acquired an Old Remington Rolling block action from an estate sale. I have two questions: what is something like this worth ( not that great of condition, but can be worked on by a gunsmith ), and since it has a serial# am I able to ship to someones home address or does it need to be shipped to a FFL dealer?
Thank You

Hello again folks. Can anyone help me out on a Remington Rolling Block rifle value. I saw one for sale in very nice shape but just dont know what to pay.Any ballpark figures would help. All I know is it has the saddle ring if that means anything. Appreciate any help. Richee 0 -
if you don't try to 'hot rod' it. 0 -
If it's a original #5 Rolling Block made out of steel for smokeless powder, I'm sure it would be.
I had one of the original 7mm's in excellent condition years ago. Although it appeared to be in unissued condition, reloading for it was frustrating. There was so much give/slop in the action none of my brass was reloadable even with what I considered light handloads. Since the Donaldson Wasp is a fairly hot wildcat you might reconsider using a RB action as a platform for it.0 -

IT IS THE TIGHTEST R.B. I'VE SEEN, 'WARM' RELOADS WILL RECHAMBER IN ANY POSITION AND I SHOT A 10 SHOT 2" GROUP AT 100 YRDS WITH JUST THE 'IRON' SIGHTS. I'VE ALSO SEEN 2 SELL ON THE AUCTION SIDE THAT WERE REBARRELED IN .30/06 AND SOLD AS 'SHOOTERS'. 0 -
What do you do about the heavy trigger?
You'll need a decent trigger for varminting with the Wasp.
A shallow sear engagement holding back that heavy hammer and main spring would make me nervous.
I believe there were double set triggers on some of the old long range target models.
Finding one must be near impossible.0 -
"What do you do about the heavy trigger?"..........A FELLOW OUT IN Ca. SELLS R.B. PARTS AND HAS A TRIGGER SPRING KIT THAT HELPS A LOT, JUST GOOGLE "ROLLING BLOCK PARTS" 0
