Is it possible to remove the end label from a Colt box and reinstall it on another box? How could this be accomplished?

  I would think a library or bookstore could put you in touch with a restoration specialist who would have the skill and supplies needed for that work.

  I have a nice unfired colt Delta Elite but unfortunetly the box was "poorly" stored. The end label was, however, spared. The styrofoam and paper-work are ok as well. I found an indetical box and would like to transfer the label.

  Let's see. The easiest is to cut the jacked up box for the label then use a razor to cut away the cardboard then glue to the new box (easiest).
  
  Or figure out what kind of glue was used. Something that could be steamed off or lighter fluid like Ronsol. Lighter fluid works best on paper type of label. But might remove pen ink.

  No "restoration specialists" are needed. Label removal is not rocket science.
  
  The labels are stuck on with an adhesive similar to that used on tape. Therefore, any solvent will assist in removal. I use naphtha. For tougher adhesives, acetone may be necessary, but usually not on Colt labels.
  
  The technique I use is to soak up the flap from behind and around the edges. If the label is one with the bar code, be sure that your solvent does not make the ink run. When you can get a corner loose, start running the solvent under the label and pull diagonally while continuing to add solvent along the attachment line.
  
  Sometimes enough adhesive will remain on the label to reattach it, but not usually. I use a glue stick to reattach the label when necessary.
  
  Do NOT cut the flap. Doing so will diminish the value of the box more than poor condition.
