Grips on Newer Ruger Blackhawks
Got a couple of the newer Ruger Blackhawks with the checkered black grips. Wondered what the opinions are on these. 10 shots from the .44 Special and my palm feels like it's been sandpapered! I switched the grips on the .45 Colt to some Jay Scotts in my collection before I fired that. Will not be as easy to change the .44 Spec. since the grip frame contour is the same as the early XR-3.

What else do you need to know?
I usually replace checkerd stocks on almost everything with aftermarket uncheckered stocks. I like uncheckered Hogue Monogrips a lot, but have wood and elk antler as well.0 -
I believe that Ruger's On-Line Store has smooth Rosewood or Bonded Ivory grips that will fit your gun....check it out. 0 -
You mat want to check out N. C. Ordance at gungrip.com, they have several different styles. 0 -
Try a thin pair of shooting gloves, great control and feel. 0 -
I put the rubber oversized grips on the older Blackhawk I have. If you can find someone who has modified these grips for the later model Blackhowk sure makes them handle better. Try the Ruger Forum.
