Stevens shotgun question

Friend has asked me to research a Stevens Model 94-K single shot shotgun. I can find info on the plain M-94, and the 94Y (youth). Not that I think it matters much as far as value, but does anyone know what the K stands for?

  They changed the suffex many times in the course of a long production run. It would indicate when it was made and changes made at that time. I don't know the time frame breakdown but somone here may.
