43 mauser & 404 Jeff

I have a box of the 43, no gun. The internet seems to indicate that it is the same as 404 Jeff Confirm??

  Not sure on all the dimensions, but 43 Mauser is rimmed and the .404 Jeffery is rimless.

  Wherever you are reading that information has it absolutely wrong. The 43 Mauser is a older rimmed military cartridge and the 404 Jeffery is a more modern rimless high power cartridge.

  Metric designation of the .404 - it is quite popular on the Continent - is 10.75x73.
