1911 22 conversion
I have an EAA .22lr conversion for my Colt Combat Commander and lost the magazine. Where can one find an affordable replacements? Since the CGB was ended you can again buy Hi-cap mags very reasonable. But finding a 10 rd mag for the RARE.22lr that fits in the RARE 1911 for a fair price is impossible.

There are 19 1911-22lr. mags listed on the auction side from $19.95 and up. You can buy Kimber mags for about $23. 0 -
Ciener would be nice since they hold 15. As for EAA working with Ciener? 0 -
Ceiner has a few problems right now. 0 -

Don't mean you have to buy from the "factory".0 -
Not much help here so far. I can find some advertised...but can't bring myself to paying the price asked for most. Seen some affordable, but when I ask if they will function on a CCC converted from 38 super by a EAA 22 conversion I am told they won't work. Not sure why different brands won't work, it's a Colt 1911 for crying out loud. How standard is that! What are the aftermarket conversion folks doing? Sounds crooked to me. Wish I could just find some EAA ones. EAA seems reasonalble on their products and work fine. They must have just stop making this conversion as I can't find mags out there. But I am not about to buy another kits if the JA's are making them so unique. 0 -
So if the choices given ain't what you're looking. Then pay the cash to get what worked on your rig.
Buy cheap, pay for it twice.0 -
The reason some magazines may not work is the hold open method on Colt conversion units is the same as for a 45acp or 9mm or 38 super . It has a magazine follower that engages the slide stop pin in the lock back notch . However this same idea will ruin a conversion unit that has an aluminum slide. ALL & I mean ALL conversion unit need to be tweaked to function 100 % because the 22 bore is much harder to line up then a 45ACP with the first top round in a magazine ... My suggestion is to get a Kimber Mag. ALL plastic but seem to feed in any frame. 0
