Different chokes would have different sizes. Even the choke marking on the barrel wouldn't guarantee that the ID of the bore is factory original. I had a old Model 12 with a full choke barrel that had been opened up for steel shot. The ID was more open then Improved Cylinder.

EDIT #1, Stick a dime in the barrel. It's just over .700 in diameter. If it doesn't go in the barrel, it is full choke. If it goes in tight, Modified. Loose, Improved Cylinder. Those are the three most common chokes.

"anyone know what the bore size is on winchester model 12,12ga. nickle steel barrels?i know prob not all the same but maybe a adverage size."............bore size is a nominal .729" (as opposed to choke dia.). there can be some variation, but by the time the nickle steel barrels came out they were pretty well stamdardised.
