colt trooper mk iii 357 factory parkerized?
hello. i have a colt trooper mk iii 357 that is parkerized. looks to me and my gunsmith to be factory original. does anyone know if colt made these parkerized? currently up for auction # 260906845 thanks for your info.

Well, in the first place, I don't think it is Parkerized.
The pictures look like a matte blue or black oxide.
It might be factory Colt, they have done stranger things.
Wouldn't it have been a good idea to clean the rust out of the backstrap serrations before advertising it for sale?0 -

It might be a late production MK III Trooper? As I recall, Colt put out a number of handguns with a dark mat black unpolished finish during the mid 80's time frame. Judge Colt would likely know, if he chimes in on this thread.0 -

I'd like to see what it looks like under the grip panels, if there is that much rust on the backstrap and on the base of the hammer, I'd bet there is some serious rust under the grips. It looks like a refinish job to me. 0 -
Sure looks like a bead blast and reblue finish in the pictures.
I've seen a number of 1911,s done like that.0
