Remington 11-96 euro

Hello all,iam looking at this gun to buy but not familiar with it. some research i have done says its based on the 11-87 action and is worth somewhere in the 600 to 750 price range in the condition this one is in... i can get it for 300. can anyone give me some enlightenment on if it is a good gun since it was only produced for 3 years? and also wat i really may be worth...thanks in advance ah

  The price seems to good to be true for a Remington semi-auto. You might check the on-line actions to see what they are actually selling for.
  
  Although I'm not familiar with this particular model? When US commercial firearms are sold as "Euro" models generally the differences are just cosmetic, so that they will be more salable on the other side of the pond.
  
  At that price It would be a good deal. Check it out real close as far as function and condition are concerned, though.

  I thought the price was good also...the folks didnt know anything about it either so i think thats why they priced so cheap

  i would say its at least as good a shape as that one here on gb...so 300 isnt 2 bad...but still would like like 2 know if its a pos or not

  The main thing about the Euro model was a more tapered barrel to save a little weight and improve the balance. I doubt it will operate any different from a "regular" 11-87.
  Can you arrange to testfire?
  It would be hard to sell me a used gun without letting me shoot it.

  They weren't pos. I think people didn't care for them because of the re-shaped receiver.i wouldn't think you could go wrong at that price.

  Thanks 4 the input... no a test fire is out of the ? because its at a pawn shop in the city...its so cheap because they dont know wat it is i think

  The difference in most Euro models is the stock shape; the Europeans like more drop at the comb & butt. I think that may be best suited for short range shots in the brush, but it will be a sure looser for clay birds or waterfowl, especially for most us used to American style wood.
  
  I don't know where you do your research, but you could have picked up one on GB for $325 plus shipping in recent months. Pawn shops don't stay in business by being stupid or ignorant; they are only asking $300 because they can't get any more than that.

  Its worth 300..do it "out the door" price,,,can't see you getting hurt.
