What do you think about buying the Olympic .223 Plinker and then buying the free floating heavy stainless barrel upper for it. Do you think that would be a good investment?

  I feel pretty dumb but can anyone tell me what an AR-15 lighting link is I saw it on ebay and figured the best place to find out was here

  If you are saying it is a flat top, you are looking at around $800.00 for a value. Unfortunately the scope, because it says Simmons on it, is basically a give away, and will gain you no further value.

  Yes it is a flat top.800.00 really.I can't seem to get more than 300.00 from dealers around here.

  Thats the problem...dealer's...they want to buy it for $300.00 and make $500.00 profit. Try advertising it on the auction side on here. Start it around $500.00 with no reserve, and run it for 10 day's. Good pictures are a must.

  If its just the Upper, then the dealer's are not that far off, but you should be able to get $400.00-500.00 for it.

  If you really want market value out of it-list it on the auction side. As stated, the scope won't increase the value. It will bring a few bucks on ebay.

  Well you have about the least expensive brand AR upper you can buy. Even if it has never had a round through it a dealer would consider it used. There's your main problem a dealer is a step about a pawn shop when trying to sell them something. Throw the scope away it adds nothing to the value of the upper. As said it's worth about $300-$350.
