    Bubba Jr.,

Is this a DAO model from the factory, or has the hammer just been bobbed? Can the hammer be cocked single action?

I'm not sure why you would want to add the hammer spur to this model if you got it. Most likely it is their Double Action Only(DAO) model. In order to do what you would want it to, you would most likely have to swap out the hammer and trigger. Then you are back again to the higher price.

However if this is a model that the hammer has just been bobbed after it left the factory, then another hammer could be FITTED by a pistolsmith with the know how. Or.....you can checker the top of the hammer, so you can get a grip on it when it is partially back, to use single action.

    EDIT 1

In order to change it to double action/single action, you will need a pistolsmith to change the hammer and trigger parts for you. They will need to be fitted and timed...might as well just buy a gun the way you want it.

This one is a DA only with a bobbed hammer from the factory like this one. It also has a Houge grip and 2 speed loaders.

If it's DA only, there is no need for a hammer spur except for cosmetics...or to hold in place a holster strap. Good concealment holsters are made for hammerless guns, I used one for years when I carried a 640 Smith. Honestly, since you can't cock-decock a DAO using the hammer, it's really only good for snagging on your clothes when you draw.

Keep it as is and buy it (I have a feeling you'll like it, I have a DA/SA SP101 in .38 that's always shot DA anyway) or get a DA/SA SP101 when you run into one later on.

There's a gun show coming up next weekend, and I think I'll go there and see if I can find what I want instead of buying something I just kind of like.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. [:)]
