AMT automag
Thanks to Yoshmyster's advice to clip a coil off the spring, tried it and it worked. Took 1 1/2 coil off and finally I have a pistol that functions. Thanks Dave

Great news, Dave.
Any idea if someone had put the wrong spring in the pistol?0 -
I have no idea, but I was so frustrated I was ready to tear it apart and sell the parts.I think lots of folks who bought AMT pistols had problems. I'm going to go have a drink and celebrate. 0 -
Bitchen'. I'd keep my eye on galling on the rails and other frictiony parts.
So did you spend the $25 on the part and $10 on shipping? If you did I hope you picked up other parts to make the shipping less ass rapey. If not then you saved a few bucks [;)].0 -
Thanks for all the support, glad it finally works, I'll keep an eye on the galling but I'm not going to clean it after every use as it's a bugger to re-assemble especially the little trigger spring that never seems to catch the back of the barrel.Cleaning the AMT reminds me of cleaning the Ruger auto.Nothing like the good old 1911 Colt. 0
