It is 9x19 9MM.

Is it a milsurp Russian round, or will it fire 9MM Luger?

  Whole lot of commercial Chinese Tokarevs were imported in the early to mid 90's time frame, before slick willie had the importation of all Chinese firearms with rifled barrels stopped.
  
  I wouldn't be buying one unless you could actually test fire it before hand. They were sold cheap at the time, and didn't have the greatest reputation for reliability and workmanship.

  The original Russian Tokarev TT-33 was chambered in 7.62x25 Tokarev. The Chicom series 213 knockoffs were made in 9mm Luger.

  9x19 & 9mm Luger: Different names for the same round.
  
  I don't know whether that thing will fire at all, but as I recall some of the Norinco stuff coming in was top notch like the new SKS's. Some said they would break drill bits when you tried to drill and tap them for scopes. The Chinese airguns are largely a horror story but apparently they know how to make them good because the pyramidair blog said the first few of a given type are good quality then they cheapen them up as much as they can.

  I have two ChiToks, one in 9, the other in .30. They shoot and function fine although the 9 required a new stronger hammer spring that took me all of 3 minutes to install.
  Like John Brownings other design, the .45, this design can be disassembled without any tools save a cartridge.

  A few years ago a whole bunch of these 9mm Model 213s were imported into Canada and were sold with 2 magazines and a funny "Chinglish" owners book, new in the box for $99.00 plus tax and shipping. They sold out very quickly at that price.
  Current prices for either 7.62X25mm or 9mm run around $170.00 to $200.00 new.
  I have one of them, as do probably thousands of other Canadians, and there are not many mechanical problems reported with them, other than complaints of a heavy trigger pull. Mine doesn't like hollow-points, but feeds and shoots 115 and 125gr RN bullets fine, and I've shot it quite a bit.
  A cheap and ugly pistol, but hey, it works.

  9mm Luger.
  The Pistol can be converted to alternately shoot 7.62x25.
  I have some of these in both calibers and like them.
  Besides FMJ bullets the Tokarev will handle XTP hollow points.
