Savage mod 10 not feeding correctly???

I bought a savage model 10 in .243 and it does NOT feed correctly from the blind magazine. When trying to feed from the box, the next bullet gets jammed as it hits the feed ramp. Anybody got any ideas??

    Hmm,,,tension spring in the blind box? other than that I don't know how it would jam..I have had several of these and no problems with feeding?


    Tension spring in backwards? A thought/

    I got one in .243 and have no problems at all with it...a shooter too.

    I'm not sure if that follower is tapered or has a rectangular base and magazine well. Check to make sure the follower is facing the right direction first. Then make sure the magazine well is properly mated to the action...some of these can get canted when putting them back into the stock. Check the feed ramp to make sure there are no deep scratches or gouges on it that would effect a smothe bullet travel.

    Those were my thoughts. If the rifle was improperly assembled after cleaning the mag parts could be backward or canted.

    It scares ya when you buy the rifle everybody touts as "the new rifle to beat"....and then it don't feed right[:(]

    Anyways, alls good now, I had the same issue with my little Remington 722 in .222 Rem. It has a mag block that I got in there wrong.[B)] But I figured it out and it now feeds like the little champ it was when I first got it.[:D][:D]
