DOM of Win. 94 #1343660
Apparently this gun was made either during the WWII years or early post war, as it's in the number gap in my references. I got a call from the local shop to help ID and value the gun. It has practically no wear and looks origional. I'll try to get some pictures and post them.

It looks like 1945 according to Bert's thread. He should be along later with more info and probably some questions.

October 1945.
It has been erronously written and published that "no records exist for the years 1943 - 1948". Records do exist up to December 29th, 1945. Production of the Model 94 was suspended in late August of 1942 and it did not resume until November of 1944. in the years 1894 through 1963, that is the only gap in the production.
On the gun in question, I would like to know for following;
1. Caliber
2. Butt plate type (serrated steel or flat checkered steel)0 -
Thanks Spider & Bert. As I mentioned, I'll try to get some pictures. The chambering is .30-30 and I didn't look closely at the butt plate.
EDIT: The butt plate is serrated, not checkered. And the caliber stamping is .30 W.C.F. Looks like I'll not be able to get pictures.0 -

Thanks for the update.
Most of the 1945 vintage Model 94s have "42" marked barrels and serrated butt plates, both of which were left-overs from the pre-war production.0
