Need help with Savage Trigger

I bought a Savage model 12 that has a screw missing. The trigger pull is less than 1 pound and I want to get it up to a safe level... It never ceases to amaze me the things that people do to fire arms.

  Well, that part contains a screw, and spring. If you want it, most likely you can get it from Brownells, or e-gunparts.

  I should have asked ... Will this screw and spring adjust the trigger to a heavier pull weight? Thanks
