Ithica Mod 37 question
Does anyone know the years that the Featherlight had the 'corncob' fore end. I'm hoping it qualifies a shotgun as a C&R.
Thanks

I would not go off the forend design alone those can and have been changed. Go off of the serial number if it is on the side of the reciever most likely not c&r if it is on the front of the reciever where the barrel meets very well could be. A serial number is the only way to tell. Go to diamond gunsmithings sight when you have it and it will give you the date. Love the corn cob design! 0 -
1960 production stopped at #777000. 1961 at 797000. So if it's below 777000 it's C&R and if it's at 797000, it soon will be. 0 -
My Model 37 serial #597364-2, when was it made 0 -
1955. The -2 indicates that it was MOD. choke. 0 -

I have one here with the long mag tube that we just reparked which has a "Property of State of Louisiana" tag attached to the receiver, and I can't help but pick it up and say:
"What we have hyah, is failure...to communicate! Some boys, ya just cain't reach."
It's Sn 381009423---- looks like 19740 -
DRP-AZ: My book indicates that your gun was one of 30,000 made in 1975. The 38 prefix seems to be peculiar to that year. In 1976 they went back to 37xxxxxxx. 0
