A buddy called wanting to know what a weatherby was worth, but I can't find it in the blue book or listed on the auction side.
Weatherby Mark V RMEF #22of50 300 wby mag, gold inlays and plating.
No box or hang tags, possibly has been fired.
My guess was no more than any other mark v shooter. Any opinions?

I would say that the tag on that should be somewhere between $1200.00-1500.00. A lot of folks do not realize the magnitude or attitude of that round.

    EDIT 1

Once a mid name brand scope like Leupold hits the rings, it's value is cut in half. Actually the retail price you seen at Cabela's reflects a 200% increase over wholesale, or very close to it. The same goes for the rifle. Take them to a shop, including Cabela's to trade them in, and see what you get. Take a look on the auction side, at auctions that have actually sold, and you will see what the market will bear. That is what I based my first estimates on. In all actuality, you would probably make the most, by listing it on the auction side.

I did the retail prices online used Cabella's for scope and ammo 760.00$ for the scope and 130.00$ for the ammo. Used Weatherby for gun price 1550.00$.

Total is 2440.00$ but these prices are high and it is slightly used would asking 2000.00$ be to much.

$2,000 might take a while to find a buyer, You could always list it at for a couple of weeks to a month, then lower the price if you are in a rush to sell it.
A fair price to you would seem to be $2000., a fair price to a buyer IMO is as cheap as he can buy it for.

synthetic stock on MK V are hard to sell, with Weatherby's a lot depends on the caliber. You might do better to seperate the scope from the rifle.
