sks fixed magazine
I recently purchased a sks- it has a fixed mag-10 rounds-I have seen some with 20round mag. is there somewhere i can purchase a 20 round fixed mag since detachable ones seem to give a lot of trouble. Also is there a place to buy a bayonet for it-id like to make it as original as possible--thanks

Your best bets are to check auction sites like this one and others, plus gun shows and ads in publications like Shotgun News. You are wise to avoid detachable mags. Buy some 10 round stripper clips and you'll find that reloading is quick and easy. 0 -
Alot of that stuff is always available on this and other internet gun auctions.
The reliability of the extended capacity magazines, even the Chinese made ones has been questionable though.
As far as the bayonet is concerned make sure the bayonet mount on the SKS barrel is still functionable, some have been deactivated. Also there are at least 3 types of bayonets maybe more? Short and long cruciform, and blade. You have to get the correct bayonet for the specific SKS, that you have.0 -
The Chinese made a fixed steel 20 round magazine but they are some what hard to find and are some what pricey. You can also get a fixed plastic AK looking mag from Midway for around $20.00 like the one in the picture.

Saying "I have an SKS & need a part" is like saying "I have a car & I need a part". While superficially the same rifle, those made by every country are different, & require identification by country of origin: Chinese, Russian, Albanian, Yugoslavian, etc.
Most bayonets were installed with a special screw/retainer which requires an armory tool (spanner, huge screwdriver) for R&R; plus, most were heavily staked. Most folks who remove the bayonet find they have to drill out the screw/retainer, so it may be difficult finding a set that fits your rifle.
