redhawk rear sight blade replacement

Somehow the rear sight blade on my redhawk broke off. I think it may be a holster issue. Regardless, how difficult is it to replace the blade? It appears that what is required is to turn the left right adjustment screw until the blade comes out the side, then slide the new one in. Is that correct?

  Assuming it's like all the other Ruger's I've played with, back out the screw, then with a small pair of padded pliers push the blade back into the spring as far as you can and lift up on the opposite end. Installation will be reverse; get the pointed extension on the lower end of the blade positioned inside the spring, push all the way in and then lower the opposite end down into the base slot.
  Hope that's how it still works and that the explanation is clear enough. If not, I'm sure others will be along shortly.

  Same here - it's not the usual "break it to fix it" style Smith & Wesson uses. Turning out the windage screw lets the stem of the screw clear the horizontal "V" cuts in the sight base blade when the blade is pushed to the left & pivoted (to the left) out.

  Well, I finally got my sight blade and installed it last weekend. the only trouble I had was compressing the spring so that I could insert the new blade (the old one came right out as described). I had to find a small tool I could insert where the sight adjustment screw goes in so that I could compress the spring some. Fortunately it never went shooting out the hole.
