Rem. 788 Barrel twist & threads?
I have a shot out Rem 788 in 22-250. Does anyone know what the twist is and threads? I wonder if the newer Rem. model 700 bbls. would interchange. Thanks

"I wonder if the newer Rem. model 700 bbls. would interchange'......no, the 788 uses a unique thread. as to the 'twist', that would depend on the cal. it's chambered for. 0 -
litetrigger,
Not even close unfortunately.
The M788 thread tenon is 1" x 20 TPI while the M700 tenon is 1.062" x 16 TPI.
The twist rate for the M788 .22-250 barrel was 1:14".

The 788 tenon on my 2 barrels is 1.550. Threads are 20 tpi I agree with nononsense on twist and 700 dimensions. 0 -
zimmden,
I think you're measuring the length not the diameter of the thread tenon. It's the diameter that I stated which is included in the thread dimensions.

Nononsese is right as usual. I should have read it more carefully. 0
