Perhaps one of our folks could help you if you were more specific in your description.
The Stoeger Lugers that were sold from the late 60's to mid 80's were .22 caliber replicas that only have a cosmetic resemblance to the original German made Lugers. None of their parts will interchange.
The stainless steel Lugers that Stoeger sold during the 90's were U.S. made replicas of the original German made Lugers. Their parts might interchange?0 -
Stoeger Luger, I asking about was the 9mm stainless version. I have since heard that they are interchangeable only after significant fitting.

I have a 6" Stoeger Luger - complete pistol. Are you asking if a Stoeger Luger "upper" will fit and work on an original P08? Did Stoeger make "uppers" only? I've no idea what a P06 Luger is though. Need more info on what you have and what you're trying to do.0 -

I have a P08 frame and a P06 frame(grip safety model). Have been looking for uppers. There are some of these Stoeger parts around but they were made in the 70's. I have since heard they need a lot of fitting to work with these older frames.

All parabellum Lugers ('06's or '08's) are hand fit from the factory. You won't find a 'drop in' part (yes, you may be lucky)..
The frames you have, are they .30 cal, or 9mm? Were they the old flat mainspring, or the later coil mainspring?

The P06 frame was a 30cal anf the 08 a 9mm. Both use the spiral recoil spring. Thanks for the GB leads. I follow most of them but missed these.

I have at least eight P08 uppers from 1911 up to an Interarmco Mauser 30 cal from the '70s. Most uppers fit frames I have with the exception of one having a Swiss barrel and spacer.
When you say upper I assume you're talking about the barrel and barrel extension only, known as the "tuning fork".
There is also an issue with the toggle assembly parts fit into the upper receiver which also may be a selective fit.
Additionally, the three toggle assembly pins are fitted and the sizes stamped.
Lugers underwent a lot of hand filing and fitting at assembly.
My experience was mixed as far as major parts fit go. Mostly, I've been lucky.
Try for fit before you buy because fitting a too tight toggle assembly into a tuning fork or a too tight tuning fork onto a frame is a beach.
Note the Interarmco Lugers were minus the safety rib above the sear lever.
If your Mitchell Luger is the same, you will either have to notch the trigger bar plate or remove at least half the rib on a new bbl extension.0 -
