    1965/66 number correspondes to super single six

    On the side it just says single six. Would it say super on the side? Thanks for your quick reply.

    Per the book, "Ruger and his Guns":

    The first one made in 1965 was #502608.
    The first one made in 1966 was #517860. So your gun is a 1965.

    Yes it's a 3-screw: Look at the right side and you'll see 3 screw heads. The new models have 2 pins. The new models came out in 1973.

    And, no, the single six's were not marked "super". I think they started calling the adjustable sight models "Super" to associate them with the "Super" Blackhawk. To further confuse the issue; all super single six's had adjustable sights but not all adjustable sight single six's were "supers"!?!
