I have been looking for new binoculars and cant decide on the ones I want. Stiener night hunter 10+50.Or burris signature 10+50.Give me some inpute on each and maby some alternate I might want to consider.

  I have a set of nice binoc's (Celestron 10x40) that I've had for years and love'em, however the rubber eye cups are dry-rotting and brittle. My question is has anyone here ever found any replacements cups or parts anywhere for ANY brand, anywhere? have tried the manufacturer and their customer service is "zero", even e-mails there's no response. Any suggestions, don't want to trash a excellant high dollar binoc's just because of the eye cups going bad. Any help is appreciated.

  If they are still in one piece (the eyecups) put some vinyl conditioner like Armor-all on the eyecups to soften them up, maybe you will get a few more years use out of them.

  Its too late, they've started to break and crack & flake. I did wrap electrical tape around them to keep them from completely falling apart but after awhile it starts to un-ravel though its better than nothing. ANYONE ?

  Eyecups are generally made of stretchy rubber, so you can probably find a set designed for a different set of binoculars that will either fit yours, or can be stretched to fit.
  
  Get the dimensions you need first.

  If all else fails, you can make a set out of a bicycle inner tube. Cut to length, fold onto itself. Not super elegant, but should be functional.

  Binoculars are like any other instrument, they need to be Cleaned, Lubricated and Adjusted (CLA) every so often. I do that with my camera equiptment that I use regularly and also with my binoculars.
  
  I had a nice hardly used Leitz binos that I got on Ebay and found a little fungus and stiffness in the adjustments. I researched the internet and found a well review company in San Antonio, National Binoculars Repair Center run by Mr. Charles Dospapas.
  
  He is an old timer and knows his binoculars inside and out. He honestly told me not to repair one of my newer binos, because those made now days have too many plastic parts and once they get misaligned, you may as well dump them.   I hope is still is in business, because the last time I was in contact with him a couple of years ago, he was in his eighties!
