Joined the 3/8 inch club; any load favs?
Bought a Colt Sauer Grand Alaskan in .375 H&H, so I'm accumulating brass, dies, etc. and wanted to see if anyone had any pet loads for bench/target shooting.
I'm not planning an elk hunt; just want to shoot it a little.
Cast bullets OK in it? I was thinking of the Lee 250 grain fn, but I'll have to get sizing dies.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Bill, I loved shooting cast bullets in my 375 ouch and ouch. They are remarkably accurate, very potent game getters and offer a huge savings when you want to shoot a lot.
When I get home I will look at the records I have and send you some information on the loads I used. The 250 grain bullet is the king of cast projectiles for the 375.0 -
235gr Speers backed up with 45gr of 4198. Easy on the sholder and the pocketbook. 0 -
Got the bullets; waiting for brass.
Was that IMR or H 4198?0 -

It doesn't matter. The load is well below the 375 realm.
It will be comparable to shooting a 30-06.0 -
260 gn nosler b.t. & 76.0 gns of rl-15 = dead elk 0 -
Thanks; when I get the brass, I'll let you know how it shoots.
