Arisaka type 99 bolt.
I have listed two bolts on the auctions. #255026858 is listed as a type 99, 7.7 caliber bolt. #255926398 is listed as a type 38 6.5 caliber bolt. A user told me that #255026858 is actually a t38 6,5 caliber bolt. Can someone please look at these two auctions and tell me if they are correctly identified? Thanks!

The cocking piece and vent hole are not the same as my 99. The vent on mine is round and the cocking piece has a semi circle "bite" out of it. 0 -
It appears both descriptions are reversed. Type 38 bolt: bolt stop lug is not slotted thru; safety has a projection that points up when turned on; longer gas port. Type 99 bolt: bolt stop lug is slotted all the way thru; Safety has a U shape notch; late models can have a small bolt handle knob; shorter gas port or round hole.
I have never seen a small bolt handle knob on a Type 38, but that may be for the experts. I only answer this to save a buyer from getting the wrong part.0 -
I concur w/navc130. The descriptions are switched backwards. BTW, the T-99 bolt w/small handle knob is from a late war "Last Ditch" rifle. 0 -
What do you do to see the pictures of the two different bolts? 0 -
Thanks! I will correct the auctions. To answer the last post: type the auction number in the search block. That should take you to the auction. Thanks again, Gunswapper. 0
