XP-100 Stock

I have a xp-100 pistol action, the old style with the forward trigger/plastic stock. I have zero dollars invested in it. I want to convert it to a single shot rifle. I have a rem. 600 trigger. I need a stock. Is there any rem. factory stock that will fit this action with minimal amount of inletting. Rem. 600? model 7?

  I recalled, and found on Wiki:
  "The XP-100 action was used as the basis for a new single-shot rifle from Remington called the XR-100 Rangemaster."
  
  I would assume the XR stock would be usable or at least adaptable with the least work. But I don't KNOW. Maybe nononsense does.

  I would check with the after market stock makers. Also read up on the bad 600 triggers you could be glad you did.

  I think that is the good trigger but I'd ask Remington to be sure.

  FWIW, I have a model 600 I just got back from Remington on a recall repair. Mine WOULD fire when safety was released (did it to me twice- no doubt at all). Look for a tiny letter stamped into the side of the trigger indicating it has had the recall done.

  The original XP100 was based on the M600/M660 rifle action or vice-verse if you prefer. You can use rifle stocks for the M600 actions but they will be few and far between due to age. There will be a difference in how the XP attaches to the stock as opposed to the two action screws on the M600.
  
  I suggest getting something like a McMillan with just the basic cylinder inlet without the trigger slot or action screw holes. Then give the stock and the action to your gunsmith to complete the inletting. McMillan also has a 'Specials' page which will feature XP100 stocks occasionally but they will likely be for benchrest or some other form of target shooting. The other option is for any of the synthetic stocks with no inletting at all and let the gunsmith start with the barreled action and do the whole stock.
  
  The XR100 used the Model 7 as the basis.

  My trigger has a V stamped into the left upper side of the trigger itself. Is that a good one or a bad one? I purchased it new from a fellow on gunbroker.

  Good one. That is where they mark them after recall service.
