Hi- wondered if there is a sight to tell of the various markings? Plus what markings should be on gun an what parts had numbers to make sure completely matching rifle. ( example like k98 rifle parts numders ect..) Any help would be great- Thanks Mike

  Your best bet would be to use GOOGLE. Try using a search term of "g 43 german rifles" or something similar.

  Need hands-on by a pro. Factory originality and cosmetic condition would be a major factor in value. Because of how their value has increased so much over the years, this has caused the gun fakers/scamers to go after them in a big way. If you don't know what you are doing you risk the possibility of being burned big time. The least you can do is get hold of some high quality photos and post them on the forum.

  I looked at the pic when it was still available. It looks like the stock has been sanded and the sling is a modern repro. This isn't positive as far as collectors value is concerned. I don't know what factory original 43's are going for nowadays, but $3500 for one that has apparently been dicked with is way out of line, IMHO.
  
  
  
  EDIT #1, Hard to believe anybody would spring that kind of money on the G 43 if it was refinished/reworked.
  
  As for the Carcano/Terni probably the same old world craftsman who worked the G 43 over did it
