Mosin 91\30 sight

I have a 91\30 that I have the rear sight ramp all the way down & it still shoots about 6" high at 100 Yrds. Anything I can do besides Kentucky windage?

  Cheapo solution. Snip off a piece of very thin pipe or tube (just not vinyl, it melts) and superglue it on. File down to get elevation where you need it. The post sight on the Mosin lends itself to this easily.

  jonk, to much work.
  Local auto parts house, ask for colored wiring shrink tubing. Color of your choice, snip a short piece off, slip over the sight post, brush with the flame from a lighter or match, trim to aim point.
  If you trim too much off, repeat above, it's cheap.

  That is where it is supposed to shoot at 100 yards. Basically it is point blank range, trying to adjust it out with sights is pretty hard to do. Just hold a touch low before you change other things you will be amazed how well you can hold below the black consistently..

  Thanks for the info. I had been aiming low, but thought maybe more adjustment was required.

  I've done it two ways, the first being to make a front sight post from rod. You need to start with a rod that is the diameter of the bottom flange, and progressively reduce the upper sections until it goes into the sight base. The second method is easier: file off the forward edge of the bottom of the rear sight slide. Take it off at an angle that matches the angle of the rear sight elevation ramp.
