Browning Citori Shotgun DOB

I am confused. I looked at the website but don't understand the chart. Can somebody please help me with the date of birth on this Browning Citori. It is serial number 03434RPJ03. Thank you!

  RP=1978, IMHO. The serial number is actually 03434. J03 would be he model designation.

  On the Browning web site it list the codes for the different Citori models. Verify with a magnifying glass what the code is on your shotgun. The code you have given doesn't appear to be correct.
  
  EDIT #1, I agree it's "J03". That code isn't listed on their web site. I would contact Browning customer service, either call or e-mail. Explain your question, see if they can clear it up.

  There are many Citori codes that do not show up on their list.
  
  Browning would make specials runs of custom ordered guns for large buyers (sporting goods stores or large gun dealers. A typical example would be a dealer would order field grade guns with trap or skeet ribs and target forarms and be able to sell them for less than the higher grade skeet and trap guns.
