I am sooooooo confused

I loaded a box of .45acp. The info I had said OAL of 1.275" is correct. Several of these rounds jammed in my magazine (M&P45) due to being too long. I went to some other loading info I have and it said the OAL of 1.200" is correct. When I load 230gr hardball at 1.200" the bullet sits way too low in the case. I loaded some at 1.220" and they feed ok, but now I don't know which referances are correct. Is there something that you guys use to determine OAL that is ALWAYS correct????

  i suggest you to get a wilson gauge. if it fits that it will chamber

  Start at the max oal and making dummy rounds, decrease oal by. 010 at a time. Make a handfull, load into mag, and manually cycle them all through. When you find a length that feeds reliably for you, record it and use it. Keep in mind that length still may not be the greatest for your other. 45's if you have any.

  I think you are thinking in the right direction, but, it is more critical in a single stack magazine than a double stack. This is due to the leading edge or the front curved edge of a single stack has a tighter curve radius than a double stack. Clear as mud?
