Volquartsen Hammer Bushing/Ruger Pistol
Ref: Ruger Mk. III 22/45 pistol:
Will the Volquartsen hammer bushing fit in a Mk.III IF the magazine disconnect parts have been removed?
I got an "our parts are made for the Mk.III" response from Volquartsen but wonder if they just don't want to take sides on the disconnect removal question.
Ideally I'd like to remove the disconnect parts and put in the V. bushing, sear and a Wilson steel trigger.
Thanks,

If none of our folks can answer your question, you might consider going to the Rimfire Central site. They have a very active Ruger forum. Where the problems and modifications to Mark 3 Rugers are discussed in detail.
It seems that all the lawyer mandated mods to the Mark 2 that caused the Mark 3 to come into existence, have done nothing more then cause problems with reliable function and trigger pull.
EDIT #1, Maybe I have been wrong in respect to the mods that Ruger made on the Mark 2. As I don't own one, just going on internet gossip. Supposedly the loaded chamber indicator and magazine safety, caused functioning and trigger pull problems.0 -
Rufe,
Had forgotten about Rimfire Central. Will head over there soon.
FWIW, Reliability with my 22/45 has been 100% and the trigger pull is what I've come to expect from any of the Ruger autos. Installing an overtravel screw in the factory trigger helps a bunch but I like the feel of a steel trigger and may try a Volquartsen sear. Had heard good things about their (Volq.) hammer bushing and suspect it would work on the Mk. III once the disconnector is gone. I'll see what the folks at R.C. have to say.
Thanks again,
