Trusted Gun Broker forum member Nwcid has posted a stickie at teh top of the page which covers all of the basic ins and outs of National Firearms Act ownership, including machine guns. Take a looks at this link:

Amnesty registered is a machine gun which was registered during a single month long period in November 1968. New production of machine guns and registrations for those new weapons continued, but if it was in the USA prior to 01 December, 1968 it had to have been registered during or prior to the amnesty in order to be legal for future transfer.

And, of course, there is the matter of $15,000 for a nice Guide Lamp M3.

To make it short and to the point. You can't own, possess or sell it unless you have the required amnesty documents that were issued by the feds prior to 1/1/69.

The prohibited part of the Grease Gun as far as the feds are concerned is the receiver, i.e. the part with the serial number. Everything else is just parts to them, with no legal prohibition on possession or ownership.
